Knit along: Warm socks for a good cause
36,000 pairs of hand-knitted socks on a line – that is the goal of the association Sockenweltrekord. In March 2027, the association aims to set a world record and simultaneously support homeless people. After the record attempt, all socks will be donated to cold weather aid buses.
Fischer Wolle is sponsoring the campaign. It is organized and carried out by the Sockenweltrekord association.

The official knitting book for the World Record Socks accompanies Susanne Oswald and Veronika Hug on their sock mission and provides you with new sock patterns to knit. You can find the suitable World Record sock yarn with us – as well as our World Record savings packages in the usual quality at a particularly attractive price.
Socks from size 40, preferably larger, are to be knitted. Please tie the finished socks together in pairs at the cuff. A size indication is not necessary.
You can hand in your finished pairs at one of the collection points – we also accept them for the campaign at Fischer Wolle. Further information about the project can be found directly at the Sockenweltrekord association.
How to participate
- Knit socks: From size 40, preferably larger – with Woolly Hugs World Record sock yarn or another sock yarn, for example Fischer Wolle Record.
- Tie together in pairs: Connect the finished socks at the cuff. You do not need to indicate a size.
- Hand in at a collection point: Bring your socks to one of the collection points or to us at Fischer Wolle.
Get knitting: With your socks, you support the world record attempt and bring warmth to people.
